Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009 and is a co-op third-person shooter with a lot of horror and action elements, published by Capcom. Resident Evil 5 was released on March 5th of 2009 and has sold 15.30 million copies of the game as of now. Capcom has made about $33 million from Resident Evil 5. This is the seventh Resident Evil game that Capcom would release. Resident Evil 5 has 12 hours of playtime with two story mode DLCs. Resident Evil 5 was made on the 1.5 version of Capcom’s framework engine, with the help of motion capture for the characters’ movements. In 2009, this was made for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows, and Steam, then later re-released for PS4 and Xbox One in June of 2016.
This game takes place 5 years after the events of Resident Evil 4. Both Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar are dispatched to Africa by the organization they’re with, the BSAA. They are sent to collect a bio weapon before it can be used. When they arrive, they find out most of Africa is infected, and everyone is now a zombie. Not getting too much into the story, there are many complications on the way, and other things you are doing while trying to get the bio weapon. Moving on to my experience playing this game, the main thing is the co-op. You can play with an AI teammate, but it’s more difficult, boring, and not as fun compared to playing with a friend. I decided to buy this game for my friend Harriosn Sidel, and we would play this over the summer when we were out of school. The only things I would complain about are the controls and the camera angles. Still, thats just me being picky and just being small issues. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom went for more of an action game over the horror that Resident Evil games are known for, still having a good amount of horror elements mixed in, tho. Of course, the graphics aren’t the best, saying it’s from 09, but they are good enough to be playable and enjoy the game. Has a lot of very traditional Resident Evil weapons: the revolver, pistols, the shotgun, etc. It has many very enjoyable levels with the puzzles Resident Evil is known for, but this game really emphasizes the use of teamwork, especially with the puzzles. It offers a lot of uses when playing with your friend, with trading, maybe you want a gun they have, so you trade with them, or give them ammo for a gun you don’t need, deciding to have different weapons for different uses. You can use a lot of strategizing and trading in this game with a real player, which I like.
Overall, it’s a very fun Resident Evil game, especially if you don’t want to be completely terrified like some of the other Resident Evil games in the franchise. I would definitely recommend a friend to play this with, but the AI is still works. But the co-op feature really brings this game to be so much fun. If you’re looking for something to do, especially with a friend, I would check this game out.
