The infamous Big 10 matchup between Ranked 4 Michigan and Unranked Michigan State finally took place Oct, 29th. As many saw coming, the Wolverines had total domination over the Spartans. The game finished with a final score of 29-7. Offensively for Michigan, it was the run game that put the nail in the coffin. Michigan’s starting running back Blake Corum had 33 carries for 177 yards and both touchdowns for the Wolverines, one through the air and one on the ground. Now on the other side of the ball, the Spartan’s main attack was through the air as MSU QB Payton Thorne totaled 215 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.WR Keon Coleman was the main target for Thorne as he had 5 catches for 155 yards and the only Spartan touchdown of the game. After the game had ended, 4 MSU players ran down the Michigan tunnel and assaulted Wolverine Defensive Back Ja’Den McBurrows. Those 4 Spartans; Angelo Grose, Itayvion Brown, Khary Crump, and Zion Young have all been suspended for a variable amount of time until the case is closed. U-M Coach Jim Harbaugh said he wants to press criminal charges against the players, adding that an MSU apology was not enough.
