Alternate Watch is another horror game that was released in May of 2022. At the time the game was released in an unfinished state so it didn’t have everything that the creator wanted to have within the game. The game itself is heavily inspired by the analog horror series known as The Mandela Catalogue which is a series where these shapeshifting demonic creatures psychologically torture humans often making them kill themselves or others just so they can replace them but the lore as a whole revolves around a corrupted, anti-Christian narrative where a false Archangel Gabriel overthrows God, leading to a surge of evil forces in the 1990s.
This game was released again to the public in 2026 this year as an entire game completely finished and has everything in it. Im objective is to keep these creatures out of your home by giving you the point of view camera in your home. You will for search for anomalies and mark/determine what kind of alternate it is (name of the creatures). The game has this realism in it with unreal engine 5 and when looking at screenshots of the game which you can find here on the game page it looks as if it was real life.
This game will make you feel that you’re being watched. The artwork within the game is just creepy and you’re given a certain time limit to get used to the original layout before anomalies show up. After that you just search for them until the clock hits 6am. When reading the page of the game you’re told about the different types of anomalies you can find during your play through and I promise the ones known as corpse, flawed, and mimic are the worst and in my opinion definitely the most terrifying.
With the release of the brand new “look behind you” update this game has brought loads of new mechanics and game modes and I personally think this gives the game a lot of playability and they have also announced the 2nd game which will be releasing next month but as for my overall rating 9.8/10 theres a few things I don’t like such as the time you are given to memorize the room is very short but overall yes I do very much like this game.
