UConn Beats San Diego for NCAA Championship

Monday, April 3rd, Uconn basketball played San Diego State at Houston stadium at 8:30 p.m. for the NCAA Championship. Uconn started hot in the first half going up by as much as 12 headed into halftime up 24-36. Coming into the second half San Diego came as close at 4 points with a 9-0 run with 5:34 left on the clock, yet Uconn was going down without a fight and went on a 11-3 run winning the game for their 5th NCAA Championship in school history 76-59. Some of the defensive and offensive leaders for Uconn were Tristen Newton with a double-double 19 points and 10 rebounds. As for defense Alex Karaban had 6 blocks and 3 steals. For San Diego, Kashed Johnson had 14 points and 4 rebounds. For defense Nathen Massai had 2 blocks and forced 3 turnovers.
