The marching band takes the field and performs for the crowd, playing music of the Beatles. The band entered the MSUFCU School Spirit Awards for marching bands and varsity cheerleaders. The marching band won the competition with approximately 600 votes over Brighton, a district which is five times bigger than Ovid-Elsie. The prizes include a session with John Madden, the director of the Spartan Marching band; a cash donation from Marshall Music; transportation from Dean Trailways; and a party at City Limits. | Photo by Linn Benham
