Attention all NHS members who became part of NHS this year: The Induction Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 P.M. in the high school auditorium. Please watch for a reminder slip this week which will be delivered to you with all of the details.

Tomorrow morning the OE Student Challenge will have a special guest speaker, Kyle McMann, past member of the MSU Hockey team. There will also be a huge, free breakfast of french toast and sausage, milk and OJ. The breakfast starts at 7:00am in room C-14 of the high school.

The Class of 2018 is currently selling coffee and cookie mixes. All orders are pre-paid and need to be turned into Ms. Hoffman or Mrs. Russell on Monday, October 20.

Attention all wrestlers: There is an Alma College Wrestle Off and Technique camp on November 1 for $10. Wanna go? See Mr. Bowen.

Burcham Enterprises will be offering the next Segment II driver’s education class on October 27. The next Segment I class will begin on November 3. Packets are available at the high school office.

Our FFA shirt order forms are not due back until NEXT Monday, October 20.

Anyone who ordered and re-ordered Marauder Apparel: items will be in on Wednesday to be given out Thursday and Friday. See Mrs. Batora or Ms. Blank.

Juniors who did not pay class dues last week: the deadline has been extended a couple of more days before an additional two dollars is added on. Please pay Ms. Blank in room E-1 before 3 P.M. on tomorrow.

The M-ZONE this Friday night is a PINK OUT in honor of breast cancer awareness. The game starts at 7 P.M.

Any student interested in participating in the Voice of Democracy speech contest held by the Ovid VFW hall, please see Ms. Blank. She has the prompt this year and additional information. Prizes are awarded in cash and the top speech is entered in regional competition.

Any student interested in joining the Language Arts Team, please see Ms. Blank in room E-1 for information and a permission slip. The first competition is Wednesday, October 29 in Ithaca.

The Art Institute of Michigan will be giving college presentations in the art room on Thursday, Oct. 23 during first, second, and third hours. See Mrs. Weber for a pass to attend one of these presentations if you’re interested.

There will be a meeting for those interested in bowling on the the bowling team in the Community Room this Wednesday during both lunches.

Attention seniors: Baker College in Owosso is hosting a College Day on Friday, October 24.
A bus will be leaving here at 8:45 A.M. and will return by first lunch. You can sign up in Student Services and pick up a permission form. Permission forms are due by Wednesday, October 22. Only the first 35 students with permission forms in will be able to participate.

The Academic Ceremony will be on Thursday, October 23. Letters have been mailed home to those who achieved a 3.33 GPA from the 2013-14 school year. The list of names is posted in Student Services. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Horak.

Attention seniors: Mrs. Horak needs suggestions for the class motto, class flower, class colors and class song. Please get those in to her by the end of the day today.

NHS members: A great opportunity for earning community service hours is available for you immediately. The head wrestling coach is looking for two students to serve as mat stats for the upcoming season. Your primary tasks would include keeping the score book and videotaping the meets. Knowledge of the sport is not necessary. If you are interested in this opportunity, please see Mrs. Laurencelle right away.

Seniors: if you need to work on your college application or scholarships you may use the Information Center during your lunch to do so.

The Ovid-Elsie Boys Cross Country team placed 6th of 18 teams in the TVC Overall Championship. They boys ran a great race while running in very muddy conditions to place among the top in the TVC. Scoring for the Marauders were Gage Cleveland (17:21), Ty Pardee (18:00), Dakota Pfeiffer (18:26), Josh Peckens (18:30), and Alex Garber with a new personal record of (18:43). Shepherd won the race with 83 points, Essexville Garber (106) and Caro (116) placed second and third.Gage Cleveland earned first team TVC honors finishing 11th and Ty Pardee earned second team honors placing 23rd. In the JV race, Tom Smith, Sam Sherwood, and Kevin Harrison ran their best times of the year. The Marauders will compete on Saturday at the Shiawassee County meet.
