In 1996 amongst many other Bay Area bands came P.E.E. with some of the craziest underground riffs and vocal concepts for the emo genre. Now, More Charm and Tender is the first release of P.E.E. and a project I really hope gets more traction in the future. Coming in with 19 songs in 29 minutes we observe P.E.E. deliver that classic emo whine but with a less dark overtone and a more groovy feel. Some notable tracks that I feel are among the best are I Hate All Vegetables, Treed and Andee Wants Too.. Me With One Half Of Uncle Tupelo. I feel these tracks aren’t really suitable for a casual listener. It’s hard to really stylistically appreciate this project without going in already having love for the genre. The classic amateur male vocals and ambient fingerpicked guitar are a staple that P.E.E. uses sparingly, instead opting for quick catchy riffs and percussion. Not much is known about P.E.E. but one thing for sure is that Now, More Charm and Tender is a solid 7/10.
