Send Help is a very interesting mix of horror and thriller with some comedy sprinkled in that was released in 2026. Critics rated it a 93% on rotten tomatoes while audiences rated it a 87%.The story follows a group of characters stranded in an isolated location after a plane crash. As they struggle to survive, tensions rise, secrets unravel, and the environment becomes dangerous. The film is very suspenseful and it makes everyone question their own sanity while watching.
The cast delivers some very excellent performances that make them seem like very genuine and real people, not just actors. While the actors aren’t necessarily A-list, Dylan O’Brien and Rachel McAdams show that they are just as good as they were in their prime. The supporting roles aren’t great and don’t add much to the story which does bring the acting down a notch.
The film makes good use of its island location in terms of the cinematography. It uses wide, lonely, landscape shots and emphasizes the isolation that one would feel while being on an island. In contrast the tight frame shots make everything feel up close and personal, making the tension feel very real and apparent, make it seem very claustrophobic. The sound design makes it seem very lonely yet like something is watching you at all times.
Overall Send Help is a good movie but wasn’t great by any means. The acting by the stars is very good and makes it seem real. The plot is also great, it makes the audience question who to root for and makes you question if you are in the right. Some of the gore and fourth wall breaks make the story seem very cheesy and the weak supporting cast also doesn’t help it out any. The story is very character driven rather than the horror aspect which I personally liked. I would give Send Help an 8.1/10.
