Last year the Lions drove down the field with little time remaining to score a touchdown to change the score to 19-20. Most fans would assume the Lions would have kicked the easy PAT to tie the game and go to overtime, but that wasn’t the case. Instead Taylor Decker would catch a 2 point conversion. It was called back due to some miscommunication on the Refs half, and the Lions would lose after trying two more times with another penalty. It later would come out that the refs duped the Lions out of a win. This would fuel the Lions on their revenge tour for this year. The Lions had just won a hot game over the Seahawks at home, who was first on the revenge tour, and they entered a bye week to rest up for the week ahead. The Cowboys would start the drive in promising fashion, driving down the Lions defense and almost turning over the ball, but they would kick a field goal to take a 3-0 lead. But from there it would be all Lions. They would start by driving down in just a minute and finishing it off with a touchdown rush from an explosive David Montgomery, and a Jake Bates PAT to make it 7-3. The Lions defense would make a stop and score a Jake Bates 40 yard field goal the next drive to make it 10-3. After that the Lions would pull a double reverse flea flicker trick play and throw a 52 yard touchdown to Sam LaPorta with a Jake Bates PAT to make the lead 17-3. After that Jake Bates would kick a 48 yard field goal to extend the lead to 20-3. The Lions defense would keep being dominant, and get the ball back again for a David Montgomery touchdown with a Jake Bates PAT to make the lead 27-3. The Cowboys would finally score again before halftime with a Brandon Aubrey field goal to make the score 27-6. The Lions would come out after half time and rid the chance of the Cowboys coming back, with a 37 yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams who had a decent day. After another Jake Bates kick, the Lions were up 34-6. The Cowboys finally would put something together but stall out and Kick a Brandon Aubrey 50 yard field goal to make the score 34-9, which would be the Cowboys last score of the game. After that Jake Bates would return the favor and kick another field goal, this one being 33 yards, to make the score 37-9. Bates would return after the Lions defense held strong once again and he would kick another 33 yard field goal to push the lead to 40-9. And for the last score of the game, Amon-Ra St Brown would catch a 4 yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to extend the lead to 47-9 after another Jake Bates Kick. The Lions and Cowboys would both bench some of their starting players because the game was pretty much decided at this point. It was also fun to note that the Lions ran a lot of trick plays with some of their Offensive Linemen. Taylor Decker was Targeted for a touchdown but he couldn’t hold onto it, Penei Sewell actually scored a touchdown but it got called back for an illegal man up field, and Some linemen lined up as wide receivers. Jared Goff would also finish the game with another impressive performance, posting no interceptions and throwing three touchdowns and totaling 315 yards. And place kicker Jake Bates, who was called out a lot, went 100 percent on PAT’s and Field Goals (4/4FG 5/5PAT). The Lions defense also managed 4 turnovers and multiple stops. However through all of this fun, the Lions did suffer a loss. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson Suffered a season ending tibia and fibula injury while sacking Dak Prescott. The Lions have now improved to 4-1 and their next matchup is possibly tougher than any they have played so far, especially without Aidan Hutchinson. The Lions will take on the Minnesota Vikings who are leading the NFC North and are undefeated at 5-0. It is the Lions third away game of the season and it isn’t one to miss. The game will be kicked off at 1pm, and it will be aired on FOX. Source information.
