
On April 22, the Detroit Pistons won Game 2 of their best-of-seven playoff series against the Orlando Magic, coming away with a 98–83 victory that tied their first-round matchup at one game apiece. The game started very closely with both teams matching each other in terms of their performance at half time, having each team score a total of 46 points.
The biggest advantage that Detroit had over Orlando came in the form of an amazing third quarter where the Pistons completely outscored Orlando with 38 points to Orlando’s mere 16 points. This was due to Detroit’s dominance in terms of defensive play that forced Orlando into making mistakes. In the game as a whole, Detroit made sure that Orlando shot below 32-32.5% from the field and just 25% from the three-point area.
As for individual stats, Cunningham led his team in points scored (27 points) while adding 11 assists. Harris got a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Duren contributed 11 points and 9 rebounds.
For the Pistons, all their starters got at least 10 points. As for Orlando, Banchero and Suggs led the team in points scored (18 & 19 points respectively).
