The bright lights welcomed a big moment at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens as the Ravens marched into South Florida looking to rebound. Coming into the contest, Baltimore sat at 2-5, with Miami at 2-6, each hungry for momentum. On the side of the Ravens, the return of Lamar Jackson from a hamstring injury injected energy into the offense and set the tone for the evening. Over in the Miami locker room, the Dolphins wanted to build upon earlier successes and prove their home field mattered, but it didn’t, and they had a sad loss of 28-6.
The Ravens came out and applied pressure, moving the ball efficiently from the opening whistle. In the first quarter, Jackson found a rhythm and placed Baltimore on the board with a touchdown drive to take an early lead. Miami was able to manage a field goal to stay in the game, but that would prove to be their high-water mark. The first quarter ended with the Ravens up 7-3. In the second quarter, Baltimore struck again as Jackson connected with tight end Mark Andrews for another scoring strike, and the defense began to shut down the glimpses of offense that Miami did have. By halftime, the score shifted to 14-6 in favor of Baltimore.
After the break, the Ravens started the third quarter with a long drive that resulted in another touchdown, with Jackson’s precise passing and the Ravens’ running game keeping Miami’s defense off-balance. Even though they would make multiple trips into Ravens territory, the Dolphins failed over and over again to turn red-zone opportunities into a series of misses, taking all the steam out of them. Baltimore extended the lead to 28-6 by the end of the third quarter, and the fourth quarter became a clock-management affair. Miami’s offense was listless, turnovers and penalties derailed promising drives, while the Ravens wisely leaned on veteran backs and short passes to eat up the clock.
With just seconds left, the Ravens rejoiced in the badly needed 28-6 win. It brought Baltimore to 3-5, and back-to-back victories started giving hope for a comeback. As for the Dolphins, that loss dropped them to 2-7, deepening frustration in Miami as they continue to struggle to find any rhythm. The contest underlined how Jackson’s return revitalized the Ravens’ offense and how Miami’s failure to finish drives sealed their doomed night.
