On Oct 3rd, freshmen combined with the JV football team and took the win against Mt. Morris at home with a final score of 20-14.
Coming together as one team changes the amount of playing time a player might get for any sport. Freshman quarterback Colin Veith, said he doesn’t “get much playing time as I would playing for the freshmen team.”
Although, many of the other players might think differently when it comes to combining,. sophomore Billy Harris, said that having freshman moved up on JV “adds more people to the team,” which could help if “someone gets tired or hurt we have someone to fill in for us.”
Agreeing with Harris, coach Lonnie Harger said, “Having freshman on JV shows more than what people think. It shows who wants to play and who is actually dedicated to the field.”
