On Oct 8th, the Ovid-Elsie JV football team took on New Lothrop for the second time this year and lost 27-8. For Ovid-Elsie, the leading rusher was running back Cohen Tyler, and on the defensive side of the ball leading in tackles with defensive tackle Hayden Pontack.
When asked about the improvements this game wide receiver and corner Braxton stinger said,”We improved on defense and they had a few big plays that gave them the edge.” Stinger also led the defense with interceptions having 1 and also contributed with 3 tackles.
Head coach Nick Huffnagle was asked about the overall outcome. He said, ”Would have been a different game if we didn’t give up a few of those big plays.” Hufnagle also said,”This game we did play better with everyone blocking better, knowing what they are supposed to be doing, being more physical on defensive, but just fell a little short.”
