Natalie Stoneman, Staff writer

Matilda, available on Netflix,  is a classic movie that stars Danny DeVito, Mara Wilson, Rhea Perlman, Pam Ferris, and Embeth Davidz. The film premiered in 1996 it is a family comedy directed by Danny DeVito and produced with Sony Pictures and Entertainment.

The movie is about a little girl that is neglected by her parents. While growing up Matilda has to learn how to take care of herself. Since her parents never pay attention to her she learns to do many things for herself like cook, clean, and even taught herself how to read. She would often walk back and forth to the library and bring books on how to keep her entertained from the long days left home alone. Eventually, her dad agreed to take her to school. When she attended she found out many things, like how her principal was very abusive and would harm kids if they misbehaved. After a while, she decided to do something about it along with the help of her teacher. She discovered that when she was angry enough she had the power to move things with her mind, so she used that as an advantage to take down her principal.

The rating that this movie was given on Rotten Tomatoes was 91% on the Tomatometer and 73%. Personality I would rate this movie an 8/10 because it is great for families and it is a classic childhood movie.
