Appreciate Beatles’ Let It Be Album for Its Evolution

Today I’m reviewing the Beatles‘ last album, Let It Be. This is a classic album that really
reflects the band’s sound evolution and talent. There are tracks on this album that are absolutely
timeless, such as the title track, Let It Be and  Across the Universe. While this album has
been criticized in the past for its simplicity compared to other Beatles albums, I think it melds
perfectly into the discography. Of course, they are going to slow down and appreciate the smaller
bits of life on their last record.
While this record deserves praise, it’s not without its flaws. This album doesn’t feel very
cohesive. It feels like a big brain dump of all their heads and whatever was bouncing around in
them at the time. Some songs are so strikingly beautiful and showcase talented songwriting
skills, while others simply feel like filler tracks.
Despite the aforementioned shortcomings of this record, it is still an essential part of
music history and The Beatles’ work. It captures where I think each member was mentally at the
time. It even has one of my favorite Beatles Songs, I Me Mine. I give this album a 7/10 and
appreciate it as a piece of experimental musical history.
