Kings Beat Warriors 134-133 in NBA Tourney

In a highly competitive matchup between two of the competing teams trying to fit their way into the NBA playoffs, The Sacramento Kings pulled off a 134-133 victory against the the Golden State Warriors April 16th. The Warriors and Kings gave off an epic and electrifying performance in one of the play-in tournament games. This game was very important to both of these teams because it decided that the winner of this game would proceed further in the playoffs and the losing team would get eliminated. This is very unfortunate for the losing team because the other teams competing in the play-in tournament will still get an opportunity to get a spot. After all, it won’t matter if they win or lose their game. Both of these teams have also already competed in the normal season where the result came to be that the Sacramento Kings would come with a close win with a score of 134-133. The game would be set for Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and would be held at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. This would give the Kings the advantage as it took place within their hometown and fanbase. The Warriors are already used to competing away and winning the games because they currently have a better away record than a home record.

The Golden State Warriors are one of those teams that have had their glory years in the past by winning some championships, but this year they have barely made the playoffs by becoming the number ten-ranked team in the Western Conference. They were able to contain a regular season record of 46-36 and a conference record of 26-26. Many people are skeptical about the Warriors having the win on this game because of their defense and ability to not clutch games in the 2nd half. Some teams that the Warriors have beaten that prove that they are a team to not doubt are the Mavericks, Magic, Heat, Bucks, and the Knicks. On the other hand, the kings have a very similar situation compared to the warriors because they are a struggling team that barely made the playoffs as well. They currently have the same regular season record as the Warriors with a 46-36 record and a better conference record than them containing a 30-22 record. The only difference between the Warriors and Kings is that the Kings get most of their wins from home games and they have a better overall team than the Warriors because it looks like the warriors only depend on Stephen Curry which loses their focus on their defense. With these differences, it is guaranteed that both of these team had to have played their hearts out to advance forward in the playoffs.

When the time came for both of these teams to play each other, the result came out to be the same as last time because the Kings were able to pull off the win and advance to face the pelicans. The Kings won with a score of 118-94 which was a 24-point difference and knocked the Warriors out of the playoffs. The game ending result was not much surprising to much fans as it was not a close game and proved that warriors defense was struggling. The lead scorers for the Kings were Keegan Murray and De’Aaron Fox who were both able to put up 56 points which was nearly half of the kings score. If the Warriors would want to have a better chance at progressing further into the playoffs, they will need to upgrade their defense and team chemistry. However, the kings next game against the Pelicans is looking to be in their favor because of the absence of Zion Williamson from the Pelicans.
