
On Friday, January 30th, The number 3 ranked Michigan Wolverines played the number 7 ranked Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing at the Breslin Center in the big in-state rivalry and a big top 10 matchup. This game was very close till the end when Michigan pulled away and got their first win against MSU in basketball for the first time since 2023 and the first time they had won at the Breslin Center since January 13th, 2018. This game ended up just coming down to shooting as they were pretty much even in turnovers and even in rebounds. Michigan was just able to shoot the ball better having shot 44% for field goals and shot 38% from beyond the arc, while MSU only shot 37% for field goals and shot 17% from beyond the arc. The final score of this game ended up being 83-71 in favor of Michigan. The leading scorer for the Wolverines was Yaxel Lendeburg who had 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Michigan also had Elliot Cadeau, who had 17 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds. The leading scorer for the Spartans was Jeremy Fears jr. who had 31 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. MSU also had Jaxon Kohler who had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. All in all, this was a very good game for Michigan and they will look forward to Penn State on thursday.Â
