The FFA Fruit & Nut Sale starts today. Stop down to Ms. Hoffman’s room and pick up order forms. This is our major fundraiser for the year. Please help support the chapter and sell, sell, sell!

There is no practice today for the varsity volleyball team.

Voice of Democracy participants- Please see Ms. Blank for help recording your speech. These are due by this Thursday, October 30th.

Anyone who has picked up a permission slip to attend the first Language Arts Team competition, slips must be turned in to Ms. Blank by tomorrow morning so she can excuse you from classes for Wednesday.

Jostens will meet with Seniors Thursday, October 30th at 8:15 am – 8:45 am and then again at 2:00 pm – 2:30 pm for those students who have A.M. RESA. Order forms for Senior Announcement and Cap/Gown orders will be handed out. Jostens will return Thursday, November 6th during both lunches to pick up orders.

Attention female athletes: there will be general preseason conditioning days from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. the next two weeks on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. “Sensational 6” conditioning will be offered to any female athlete who would like to enhance their conditioning before trying out for a winter sport. We will be combining plyometics, cardio and light weight-lifting during these days. The first session will be tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. on the football field. Please make sure you have a completed physical on file with the office. Those who complete all 6 workouts will receive a Sensation 6 t-shirt! The 2014-15 Snow Sculpting Team roster has been posted on the art room door. The first team meeting is tomrrow at 7:30 A.M. in the art room. Team members and alternate should attend.

Attention all wrestlers: There is an Alma College Wrestle Off and Technique camp, this Saturday, November 1 for $10. Wanna go? See Mr. Bowen.

Burcham Enterprises will be offering the next Segment I class beginning on November 3. Packets are available at the high school office.

This upcoming weekend is Daylight Savings time- Remember to “Fall Back” on Sunday at 2:00 am

The Ovid-Elsie Boys Cross Country team placed 3rd of 12 regional teams and qualified for the State Finals. Going into the meet seeded 5th, the boys knew what they needed to run to qualify for the finals. Every runner ran this race focused and with purpose. Next week we move on to compete with the best teams in Division 3.

Scoring for the Marauders were Ty Pardee 8th (17:18), Gage Cleveland 10th (17:19), Dakota Pfeiffer 18th(18:00), Josh Peckens 21st (18:11), and Alex Garber 29th (18:43). Lansing Catholic won the race with 37 points, Pewamo-Westphalia 2nd (81) and O-E third (86). Gordon Johnson finished 48th and Dominik Willaford 56th.

Ty Pardee and Gage Cleveland earned all region honors placing 8th and 10th. Personal records were again set by Josh Peckens, Alex Garber, and Gordon Johnson.

The Marauders will compete in the State Finals on Saturday, November 1st, at the MIS speedway in Brooklyn. The Division 3 boys race starts at 10:30am.
